Troy Ruiz, age 55 and a native of south Louisiana, has had a lifelong addiction to the outdoors. And it all began hunting and trapping along the bayous of south Louisiana. Troy grew up working with his family in the Commercial fishing industry- that’s right he grew up on a shrimp boat. But during the winter months and the off season he spent every waking moment with his dad and friends chasing ducks and geese in the marshes of south Louisiana.
At the early age of 9 the deer hunting bug hit him in a mighty way, and with the invention of the Polaroid camera and then the compact camcorder Troy began using pictures and video to share his experiences with friends and family.
We fast-forward some 35 years later, add in countless hours spent all over the world with video camera in hand and you get a man who has been producing outdoor programming with industry leaders such as, Mossy Oak Camo, Realtree, Remington Arms, Avery Outdoors, Bass Pro Shops, ESPN Outdoors, Preston Pittman Game Calls, The National Wild Turkey Federation, The National Rifle Association, Safari Club International, Head Hunters TV and Primos Hunting Calls. Mix all this together and you have a guy who considers himself “BLESSED” beyond all understanding.
And to date Troy is back producing with the Primos crew on the Primos Truth about Hunting TV series.
Troy’s love for the outdoors and sharing it with others through the lens of a camera and into your TV is what keeps him going. It’s the passion of hunting and the outdoors and keeping it TRUE to the core that Troy loves to share. And in sharing this passion, he can only hope that it may spark the interest of others to view God’s grand creation in such a way that those watching can’t help but believe that there truly is a God who loves you and me….
Troy resides in Madison, Mississippi with his wife Belinda of 33 years. They have one daughter Shanna Marie Sanders, a 5th grade teacher in Brandon, Mississippi and one grandson Omari.
